A thirty-five yarder from defender Harry Gibbs and a Josh Rees double was pegged back by Salisbury in the second half on Bank Holiday Monday as league leaders Hornchurch thought to have secured all three points by half time on road, but was held to a point after drawing 3-3 in the Enterprise National League South.

Before kick-off, Manager Daryl McMahon made four changes to the starting line from Saturdays 3-1 home win vs Farnborough with Charlee Adams, Angelo Balanta, Samuel Kuffour and Charlie Pegrum all entering the stage.

The game was underway with Hornchurch wearing the away blue and white strip and got caught sixty seconds in as Keeya strike was enough to go past Arthur Nasta and into the net, 1-0 Salisbury.

Six minutes later, the Urchins piled the pressure on Salisbury to find the equaliser, which came from a strike that was outrageous for the making from 35 yards out by Harry Gibbs and into the top right corner past Will Buse to send the Hornchurch away following ballistic up the other end of the stadium, 1-1 Hornchurch.

On the seventeenth minute, Hornchurch had a corner, cleared out straight into the path of Myles Weston, who whipped the ball curling into the net, but the flag went up as Balanta was offside in the build-up.

Hornchurch continued the dominating build-up play and three minutes after the offside goal, attacking Midfielder Josh Rees found Hornchurch’s lead for the first time in the game as the ball came from the right, flicked into the path for Hornchurch’s number seven’s path and drilled the ball past Buse into the net, 2-1 Hornchurch.

Daryl McMahon’s side just didn’t have enough and created three chances in the space of 3 minutes, the first one coming from Myles Weston, whose shot was blocked off the line, which brought a freekick afterwards from Will Greenidge being fouled in the clearance outside the box and Hare skied the opportunity over the bar. The third chance was Will Greenidge’s as Charlie Pegrum exchanged passes and Greenidge’s shot was saved low by Buse.

Two minutes later, Hornchurch upped the tempo and found a third, experienced Colombian Angelo Balanta sent Henry Hearn down wide, squared the ball to Josh Rees and curled the ball past Buse into an empty net, 3-1 Hornchurch.

Salisbury thought back with effort and desire to at least aim the game to turn ahead on thirty-four minutes with Keeya shooting towards goal, which was saved comfortable by Nasta.

Not much happened after the chance from Keeya, three minutes were added on, and the referee blew whistle for the half-time break.

Half Time – Salisbury 1-3 Hornchurch

Second Half got underway, with Sailsbury causing early problems to hunt for a comeback of all comebacks with early chances but found one back on fifty minutes from a corner, straight into the box, fount Davis and into the net past Nasta, 2-3 Hornchurch.

A few minutes later either side had chances, but both were fired over the bar from Angelo Balanta and Noah Coppin, which afterwards Hornchurch made changes with Sean Scannell making a return back from injury for Will Greenidge and Gile Phillips entered the stage for Myles Weston.

On the Seventy-fifth minute, Salisbury went down to ten men with Foran being shown a second yellow card offence on a challenge. Two minutes later, Charlie Ruff came on for Angelo Balanta, which ten men Salisbury attacked a few minutes afterwards and Higgs fired the ball past Nasta to equalise for the Whites and make the game level, 3-3!

Hornchurch tried everything they could to try and take all three points late again, within the game, with Charlie Ruff having two chances, one being nearly turned in, but the other being cleared off the line.

Seven minutes were added on at the end, with Salisbury having the last chance of the game on the ninety-sixth minute from Bray, but flew over the bar. New Signing, on loan, Harry Brooke entered the pitch for Charlee Adam and that was all, a 3-3 thriller on the road, with Hornchurch came away with a point and keeping the unbeaten run continue.
