Hornchurch Football Club are delighted to announce we have reached an agreement for Charlie Ruff to return the club from Chelmsford City once his current contract expires.

Charlie, who famously scored the equaliser for the Urchins in our FA Trophy Final win over Hereford at Wembley, returns to the club after another standout season for the Clarets where he finished their top goalscorer.

Charlie returns to the club for a second spell after 62 appearances previously, scoring 19 goals and setting up a further 22.

Manager Daryl McMahon added “To get Ruffy back to the club has taken us some time!  We tried to sign him last summer but we couldn’t get it done but to be able to add him to the squad now is great for us.

He is proven at this level and has the ability to create something out of nothing and will add to the attacking options we have at the club. As well as his eye for goal he has the ability to create chances and link the play together.

Welcome back Ruffy!”
