We are delighted to announce that manager Daryl McMahon has committed his long term future to the Urchins by signing a new contract until the summer of 2028.
Reflecting on his decision to stay with the Urchins, Daryl said “I’m delighted to sign a 3 year contract with the club.
We really feel we are at the start of a journey. The club has come a long way in the last couple of years and this season we have shown we can compete in this division. Our challenge now will be to continue to evolve and improve on and off the pitch as we move forward.
This league is relentless and we know we are a small club in a big division so we have to make sure we keep improving all across the club to keep competing with the clubs in this division. Over the next few seasons the club has big plans with the new stadium and that’s the reason why both Gritty and I joined the club 18 months ago. Alex’s ambition and vision to take the club forward is exciting and very real and we are enjoying working together with everyone at the club to keep improving.
The immediate job now will be to sort out our squad before we return for preseason and we hopefully will have some very exciting signings coming to go alongside the already very talented group we have.”

Chairman Alex Sharp added “When Daryl took over from Steve Morison, he had a tough job to do. Everyone was talking like we were already promoted but there was still half a season to play out. Get promoted and everyone says well we were already up when you took over, miss out and everyone says how could you have thrown it away? It was easier to go up than not. Daryl not only took us up, he did it in style, but did it his way, made the training his own, played football his way but did it with a respect and humbleness that has impressed me since the first time I met him.
Daryl is, for me, the best manager outside of the Football League, his style, the way he conducts himself, the squad he has assembled, his vision for the future is so impressive I couldn’t wait to get him signed up for the long term as we are building something very special here and with Daryl leading our progression, I know we will continually improve this football club season on season.

We are hoping to be able to announce some brilliant signings in the coming days and weeks but trust me, Daryl McMahon signing a new 3 year deal will be the best business Hornchurch FC will do for some time. Delighted you’ve committed for 3 more years Daryl and can’t wait to see what season 25/26 and beyond brings us.”
