Daryl McMahon made three changes from the 2-0 win at home to Aveley with Ollie Muldoon, George Saunders and Tommy Wood making way for Darren McQueen, Charlie Pegrum and Makai Welch.

Angelo Balanta had the first chance of the game, latching on to a Nathan Bertram-Cooper knock down but his volley was wide of the mark. After Matt McClure had sliced wide for the hosts Charlie Pegrum made an incisive run and fired goalward from the edge of the box but it just cleared the bar. McQueen outpaced the Town defence minutes later but Henry made the save. The Urchins though took the lead midway through the half. Will Greenidge was fouled 25 yards out and Charlee Adams stepped up and curled an unstoppable shot around the wall and into the top corner.

Mason Terry was called upon to save a curling effort from Vozza before Hornchurch doubled their lead. Balanta broke from midfield and played a lovely ball in to McQueen who slotted his shot under the diving body of Henry.

Tom Wraight and Greenidge both saw efforts clear the bar before the referee brought the half to a close.

Half Time: Chippenham Town 0, Hornchurch 2

Within minutes of the restart the Urchins added a third after Pegrum collected the ball on the edge of the box and squared to Balanta who drilled a right footed effort high into the net. Jake Evans had an effort saved by Terry and Tom Mehew volleyed over as the hosts looked to get back into the game but on the hour mark the Urchins added a fourth. Pegrum cut out a defensive square ball, moved into the box and fired past Henry.

As the game moved into the last fifteen minutes Leone Gravata twice went close, firstly seeing an effort clip the top of the bar and then watch as Terry held a drive from the edge of the box.

And it was Terry again saving superbly as the game moved into stoppage time.

Four minutes were added on for stoppages and the Urchins defence, solid throughout, comfortably saw out the remaining time to record an extremely satisfying win on the road, a third successive clean sheet and an excellent ninth place finish on their return to the National League South.
